Description: "The UPRA Lacaune rams were imported several years ago into the UK direct from France for use within the famous “Errington Cheese” milking sheep flock. The Erringtons are famous internationally and within the UK for producing numerous quality sheep and goat dairy cheeses in southern Scotland. The original and famous “Lanark Blue” is made from their unpasteurized ewe’s milk from their own flock of Lacaune ewes. These rams were used exclusively within their flock for several years, resulting in their offspring having improved yield and solids produced, improved udder conformation and milking ability both within their daughters and now their granddaughters’ generations. It is fair to say that their use within the Errington flock has been a great success and this is a rare opportunity to get such outstanding quality proven genetics for export to North America."

Errington Farm: "Located in South Lanarkshire, at the foot of the Pentland Hills, our farm spans 380 acres of mixed grazing, arable land, and woodland. Just 7 miles from Biggar, 25 miles south of Edinburgh, and 30 miles from Glasgow, it sits at 1,000 feet above sea level, making it a unique landscape for farming. We keep around 400 dairy Lacaune ewes, a hardy breed from the French mountains that thrives in our altitude and climate. Lambing takes place in January and February, with 325 ewes milked each year from spring through to September. Their rich, high-fat, low-lactose milk is used to make Lanark Blue, Corra Linn, and occasionally Sir Lancelot, continuing a cheesemaking tradition that has been at the heart of the farm for nearly 40 years. Throughout the year, the sheep follow a natural cycle—grazing on pasture during the warmer months and coming indoors during winter. Their diet is built on grass, hay, and silage, making them perfectly suited to a farm where grass flourishes."

Errington Cheese: "We’re so proud to share that our Corra Linn has been awarded a ‘Super Gold’ as well as being named ‘Best Scottish Cheese’ at the World Cheese Awards 2025, with Elrick Log also taking home a Silver. With over 5,000 cheeses from 46 countries judged in Switzerland last week, it’s a huge honour to see our farmhouse cheeses recognised on such a global stage."
