Description
Nipna Ferdinand is one of two shearling rams retained from the 2022 crop of lambs born at Nipna. We pride ourselves on selecting the very best and only seek to run on the very best examples to this age. He was destined to join the show team before being selected for export of frozen ram semen to North America. He is sired by Pixie Black Jack - also sire of the 2022 CFSBS Male of the year and out of a ewe that has consistently produced some of the best flock animals here at Nipna.
The Nipna Flock of Clun Forest Sheep was established in 2017 and quickly has become a leading flock in the society. They were awarded the Medium Flock of the year in the 2021 Flock inspections (run every four years). Nipna keeps some 80 purebred ewes and a further 200-250 Clun mule flock to produce fat lambs for the market as well as replacement breeding ewes for themselves and other flocks. In 2022 they were also awarded the society awards for Breeder of the year, Male of the year and Female of the year.
